In the ancient world, an odyssey was not merely a journey-it was a trial of character. To leave home was to invite transformation. The daring returned changed.
Delphi Odysseys are modern echoes of those ancient feats. We curate unique, invitation-only adventures at the edges of the world that bring together extraordinary people to push limits, share learnings, and forge bonds that endure.

The Itinerary
Five days of adventure, discovery, and celebration
Day 1: Arrival & Grounding
Arrive via Pico or Faial with a scenic coastal transfer to our base. The journey begins with a clarifying ocean swim and formal introductions. We gather for an opening dinner in a private, volcanic adega wine cellar, sampling local flavors. The evening transitions into a fireside circle beneath the stars - no agenda, just connection and setting intentions for the week ahead.
Day 2: The Deep Ocean (Princess Alice Bank)
We embark on a full-day expedition, taking a boat 45 miles offshore to the legendary Princess Alice Bank. This mid-Atlantic seamount rises from a depth of over 1,000 meters to just 20 meters, creating a biological hotspot for carousels of mobula rays, whale sharks, and whales. After immersing in the deep blue, we return at golden hour with dolphin viewing along the route, followed by a delicious coastal dinner.
Day 3: The Volcano Ascent
The challenge begins in the afternoon as we start our ascent of Mount Pico (2,351m), reaching the volcano crater rim at 2,250m to make camp. We'll watch the sunset from the highest point in Portugal, followed by an evening of fire and stars of the legendary Bortle 1 class - the darkest, most pristine level of night sky possible.
Day 4: Vineyards & The Dionysia
After an early rise to summit for sunrise high above the Atlantic we begin a slow, reflective descent. The afternoon is dedicated to recovery at the lodge: cold plunges, sauna, and stretching to soothe tired muscles. Later, we explore the UNESCO-protected lava vineyards for tastings with micro-producers. The final night is The Dionysia: a celebratory feast of music, masks, wine, and fire - an outdoor celebration that spills late into the night.
Day 5: Integration & Return
We conclude with a big brunch and an integration session to process the week's experiences. A final closing circle allows us to reflect on the memories made and the lessons carried forward. Departures and onward travel follow.
